Hi
Is it possible and make Google sense for me to save money on hosting and enhance my real estate site by moving my existing mortgage site under the same domain as my new Real Estate web site?
I plan to point the existing mortgage domain at the mortgage pages and linking the mortgage site back together as it was when hosted separately.
The mortgage site is about 8 years old canadamortgagecenter.com and gets about 4000 page views a month. The real estate site is vancouverbcrealestatesite.com under construction and new.
I would save the cost of hosting my mortgage site seperately. My real estate site host does not charge for extra domain name hosting.
How many ways is my plan flawed? lol
Should I change the name of Home Page to something people actually search for?
cheers
Harvey
Hi Harvey,
You will not get penalized for hosting more than one domain name on the same web host. Unless you plan on selling the website at some future date, it is more feasible to use one hosting account for multiple sites unless you are using the add-on sites to create inbound links to the main site.
You definitely should name all of your pages with keywords that you have researched but if the pages are already indexed and positioned well in the search engines or you have been link building it is not wise change the url because it will cause a pile of broken links to be floating around on the web. Just make sure that any new pages you add are well researched.
